Sierra Peaks Tibbetts has a strong experience in biometrics. This ranges from the development of hand held collection devices to the integration of capture devices, research, and testing / evaluation of commercially available and other devices.
Design and Fabrication
Sierra Peaks Tibbetts worked with Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to develop a hand held collection device using a commercial smartphone capable of capturing iris, facial and fingerprint data.
Biometrics efforts have led to a significant amount of research into biometric modalities and methodologies. Illumination of the subject, in particular, is a topic that we have spent a significant amount of time researching – leveraging specific skill sets in optics, light propagation, image capture, and post processing.
